Experience two days in Dalsland filled with culture, crafts, canal and good food! All surrounded by a breathtaking scenery!
Day 1
We start with lunch at Sjömagasinet, located in the small resort of Gustavsfors in northern Dalsland. Sjömagasinet is an old boat magazine from 1860, recently converted to a hotel and restaurant, with a wonderful location at the guest harbor.
After lunch we continue south to Bengtsfors. Here we visit Halmen Hus, which is both an interesting museum of straw with exhibitions, and has a well-stocked craft shop. Here we get a guided tour.
We then cross to Gammelgården, which is an open-air museum with about 20 old buildings, mostly from the 19th century, and moved there. Here is also a guided tour around the cottages.
After this we enjoy afternoon coffee in the coffee shop, which is adjacent to these buildings. If there is time and interest, you can make a stop on Dahls Konfektyr, which has factory sales of its fresh candy at a good price.
The journey continues to Baldersnäs Herrgård, where we spend the night in double rooms in the wings, located in the beautiful park. Here you can take a walk, and maybe visit the craft buildings in the park.
In the evening a good dinner in the mansion is served.
